Band Camp Only (Aug 3-13)

• Assist with flute section instruction during band camp

• Teach fundamentals, music, and marching techniques

• Collaborate with the band staff to support student success

Tuba Instructor

Band Camp Only (Aug 3-13)

• Assist with tuba section instruction during band camp

• Teach fundamentals, music, and marching techniques

• Collaborate with the band staff to support student success

Percussion Director

Band Camp (Aug 3-13), Sectionals & the Season

• Provide instruction for the front ensemble (pit percussion & electronics)

• Assist with music preparation, technique development, and performance readiness

• Attend band camp and scheduled rehearsals throughout the marching season

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Experience performing and/or teaching in a marching band

• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

• Passion for working with students in a positive learning environment

• Ability to pass all required volunteer approval procedures through Chatham County Schools

Preferred Qualifications

• College coursework or degree in music, music education, percussion performance, or a related field

• Previous teaching or instructional experience with marching band, concert band, drum corps, indoor percussion, or similar ensembles

• Experience working with students in a music education setting

• Knowledge of keyboard percussion pedagogy and electronic equipment

Compensation

These positions are compensated by the Northwood Band Boosters. Pay is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, availability, and the needs of the program.

All instructional staff must be approved as volunteers through Chatham County Schools and comply with all district policies to work with our students.
