MARCHING BAND & COLOR GUARD

The marching band is an extracurricular ensemble that performs at home football games, local holiday parades, and various student body events. In the fall, the marching band competes in several local North Carolina Band Master Association marching band competitions. Students are expected to attend all rehearsals, including band camp, which begins in July, as well as all home football games, competitions, and parades. After-school rehearsals start once the school year begins. 

In order to participate, marching band students must enroll in Marching Band in the fall. Percussion and Guard are a separate section from Winds.

The color guard is an integral part of the marching band, adding visual and artistic elements to the drill performance to enhance the show's theme or create a specific mood using flags, rifles, and other equipment. Color guard members come from diverse backgrounds, often with experience in dance, cheer, or gymnastics. Auditions for color guard are held in the spring for the fall marching band season. Color guard members are expected to attend all rehearsals, including band camp, which begins in July, as well as all home football games, competitions, and parades. After-school rehearsals start once the school year begins.
