The Northwood Indoor Percussion Ensemble (part of the Northwood Chargers Marching Band in North Carolina) is a competitive winter percussion group, recently scoring 68.30 at Holly Springs in February 2026 with their show, "Fault Lines". They frequently compete in local, regional, and WGI circuits, focusing on combining musical performance with theatrical elements.
The Chatham County Combined Winterguard is a competitive indoor color guard ensemble that brings together students from multiple schools within Chatham County, NC, to perform choreography using flags, rifles, and sabres to recorded music. They compete in regional circuits, with recent achievements including a 3rd place finish at the Apex Friendship competition in March 2025.
Percussion Ensemble highlights the versatility of our percussionists through engaging, rhythm-driven repertoire. Students perform on a wide variety of instruments and develop both technical precision and musical expression.
Jazz Band explores swing, Latin, funk, and contemporary styles. Students learn improvisation, stylistic interpretation, and collaborative performance in a high-energy small ensemble setting.
